dEFCONAirsoft have changed the way
we host advertising and raise funding for the website... and you might be
interested!
We have been looking to move away from GoogleAdsense which is currently
displayed on every page, and implement a banner adverts scheme, for which we are
looking for interested parties to take up. We are limiting the number of
available spaces to 5, to allow a fair rotation of adverts to ensure every
advertiser gets an even number of page displays.
These are not small 'button' type banners, but much larger 640 x 80 placed
at the top of each page!
How much does this cost?
After speaking to several Airsoft retailers and reviewing our original price
quote which we mailed to many of you, we have come up with what we believe to be
an extremely fair and competitive price of $5
per month or £2.50
- depending on your currency. Remember, the majority of this money will be put
back into dEFCONAirsoft for our website hosting costs and future projects, all
of which only increase the number of visitors, and in turn potential customers
for you!
How can I pay?
The easiest way for us, and most probably for you, is via PayPal. The minimum
period you can sign up for is 1 month, although there is no upper limit. Simply
advise us how long you wish your banners to remain on our website, and we'll
send you a payment request accordingly. We'll even send you an email one week
before your advertising period expires, to advise you to take action if
necessary.
Where are the adverts displayed?
Your banner advert will be displayed on every single page on dEFCONAirsoft.
*apart from the individual reviews.
(we often
receive Airsoft goods to review for a retailer, we don't want to show
competitive advertising on these pages, as we feel it would be unfair)
* After some discussion we have
decided to include the banner advertising on ALL pages, including the reviews.
This offers advertisers better value for money as our reviews are fairly
popular, whilst still providing full credit to the retailer who provided the
review piece with an individual advert for them at the bottom.

What are the banner specifications?
640 x 80 are the sizes we will be using. We have found these to fit best for
readers using lower resolutions of 1024 x 768, whilst still retaining a
respectful size at greater resolutions. For an example of how this will look,

designed. Don't worry if your banner is not this size, we will re-size it for
you. And if you don't have a banner? Not a problem, we'll design one for you
free of charge! You can also change your banner, if say, you have a special
offer that month, and want your banner to reflect this. Just let us know, and
we'll do the rest.
What to do next?
If you are interested in joining the dEFCONAirsoft banner scheme, you need to
let us know as soon as possible, as mentioned before we only have 5 slots
available. This low rotation will maximise the number of times your advert will
