January £2000 Fire-Support Give Away... It's All Over!

In January 2006, we saw possibly the largest competition give-away that any UK Retailer has embarked on...  Fire-Support, in association with dEFCONAirsoft gave away not only a massive £2000 worth of prizes but they also gave away a brand new Marui M14 SOCOM to the person who placed the largest internet order within the month of January.  Congratulations goes to Christopher Campbell who won that.

We hope you all enjoyed your prizes, and Fire-Support wish to thank you all for your business and continued support.

dEFCONAirsoft has received an extremely large number of visitors throughout the competition, and we hope you will continue to visit us and check for the latest updates, news and reviews.  I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank Fire-Support for their generosity.

It's Here... It's Arrived... It's Town Assault 4!

Town Assault is back for a fourth instalment and the concluding part to last years Operation Hammerstrike.
The date of the event has been confirmed and it is Friday 30th March through to Sunday 1st April, and the ticket price is £95 per person. We will be taking bookings in a matter of days on the website, www.townassault.com  So with the last of the rebel resistance about to fall inside the town of Stozkovskiv, the Coalition have very little time to celebrate their victory for approaching the town are rebel reinforcements….and a lot of them.  Over the 24 hours that follow the men and woman of the Coalition will be taken to hell and back as they try to repel one wave of rebel attack after another. How long will there defence hold? Will Coalition reinforcements arrive before the town is lost?

Be a part of 24 hours of totally immersive action. Following on immediately from where TA2 left off, this event promises to throw you straight in to the action of an unfolding battle.
Which side will you give your allegiance to? The rebel insurgents officially known as the Ukrainian Liberation Army. Or part of the Coalition Peace-keeping force providing military assistance to the Ukrainian government?  Which ever side you choose; prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride of action. For Town Assault is no normal Airsoft skirmish event. You will have to fight with restricted amounts of ammo and you will be required to work in small squads with a chain of command (sections, platoons and companies). There will be medic rules, POW's, simulated mortar support as well as fast-air support, and SAM (Surface to Air Missile) launchers to counter them.   This is potential the most intense and multi-layered Town Assault event yet.

Experience the battle....
Experience the Town Assault....

!! dEFCONAirsoft Directory Restructure !!

As dEFCONAirsoft has continued to grow, so too have the number of files sitting on the root of our file server. As a result, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to update and maintain the website. In order to alleviate this problem, we will be changing the directory structure of the website on Friday 2nd February at 6pm (GMT).

What will this mean for you?

If you have bookmarked or hyperlinked any of our reviews or articles, these locations will change. Please amend any bookmarks or links you may have.
The website will be inaccessible for around 10-15 minutes whilst we implement the new structure. If something goes wrong, we will roll-back to the previous design.
The design layout will remain the same, but locations will change.
If you notice any broken links that you have followed from within the website (this excludes your own bookmarks / links), please report them to us.

We thank you for your continued support.

HFC Name Change

We got chatting to the bods at HFC, the guys who made the legendary 'Dark Hawk' and other quality but affordable metal gas blowback pistols.  Aaron, the Vice President / Sales Marketing let us know they are planning on changing their name shortly... 'We are now changing our company's name as Keymore International Co; Ltd , but still remain the old time website'. Whether they will still be stamping 'HFC' on their products, or change the brand name entirely remains to be seen.

HFC have been around now for 25 years, producing Airsoft (or soft air known back then) replicas from Taiwan for the world wide market.

Just in... News From Air-Tronics

Dave from AirTronics here,

The situation is this: The ATC units shipping date has been delayed a maximum of 2 weeks - the end of January now.

We had sent the units with shipping details to a packing and freight company, ready to go out on the 15th (Today). I had a call three hours ago from the company to say that in the early hours of Sunday (yesterday) morning, their facility was gutted by fire. In this process, about 600 units were destroyed. Those that escaped damage were already in a container outside of the main building, ready for shipping today.

The fire is being investigated now to ascertain cause.

I've just come off of the phone with the manufacturer, and he is shutting down other work and just re-making the ATC units that were damaged in the fire. These should be 14 days away at most, but a week could be possible. This is at a considerable cost, insurance will not cover the extra expenses caused by the fact that we need them out to you now!

I am asking that everyone be patient if they are a little later than the 7 possible days - I would prefer to say two weeks at most. I will be sorting those that were not damaged, so that I know that no-one has been missed.

I will try to get to everyone's emails as I go through all of this, should you have queries, but I apologize in advance if I do not get to yours - Don't worry, your unit/s is/are coming.

I apologize for the delay, even though it was out of our control. We will do everything in our power to get all units out as soon as humanly possible!

Dave.

Hot News - Frontline Combat Simulations

Steve from frontline conflicts has been in touch to let us know about a revolutionary new type of war gaming facility available to those that like to participate in war games and team building activities such as paintball, airsoft and laser tag.

'We will very shortly be launching our unique brand of war gaming that utilises the realism of blank firing weaponry combined with a laser based tagging system similar to that of the military MILES 2000 combat simulation equipment that is currently in use by the British and American Armed Forces to prepare them for combat operations. There will be two types of combat simulation available - Military combat games and Law Enforcement styled combat games. In the meantime we've got our initial website complete (there's more stuff being added in the
background that will be uploaded once everything is finished and ready to rock!). www.frontlinecombatsimulations.co.uk'

More news will be available along with demonstration videos as time progresses.

Thanks for your time.

Steve (Frontline Conflicts).

If you play at Urban Assault, please be aware that as of the 21st January, all future games will be held on a Saturday and NOT a Sunday.  This is due to the on going negotiations with the local residents to find a compromise and cause them less disturbance.

KSC New Model - SIG P226R

Image taken from KSC's website http://www.ksc-guns.co.jp/2006/mainp.html

Whilst browsing Airsoft related websites recently, I've noticed something rather interesting on KSC's website, the Sig P226R. Now, though I am unable to translate the language (and google doesn't do an excellent job either!), from the pictures it does look rather interesting indeed, and certainly a product to keep an eye on. If anybody has any further information, i.e. A proposed release date, please get in touch, although the KSC website does mention something about December 18th 2006, therefore it should be here shortly.  It certainly would be worth comparing to the Tokyo Marui P226 which is much known and loved.

New Toys For Christmas?

Well, it's going to be a busy year this coming 2007, with a lot of new Airsoft models, along with existing ones to review.  So, we're calling on all Airsofters, if you've got a gun you'd like to write about, you can get your review published (with full credit going to the author) on dEFCONAirsoft... Get in touch with us,  we're always on the look out for people who can assist with the content hosted on the website.

We're looking for reviews that average about 1500 - 2000 words, with several images if possible.  Include a little history about the real steel version of your Airsoft model if applicable.  If in doubt, read some of our reviews to get an idea where to start.

And most important of all, as to avoid problems with copyright, if your review has been published elsewhere, you MUST tell us, and if so, where it is published.

We look forward to hearing from you.
