HAPPY HALLOWEEN ! dEFCONAirsoft wishes you a scary one! 31st October 12:35 The G36 to M16 Magazine conversion kit we covered yesterday (see news below) we now have a price for. £22, available from fire-support.co.uk 30th October 20:00 Updated the Classic Army G36 field report located here, with pictures sent in from the Author. 30th October 18:35 Took a trip to Fire-Support today to pick up my M14, and my god is it a good piece of kit. Keep your eyes out for reviews of the Marui SIG P226, Marui Hi-Capa 5.1, Marui Glock 18C AEP and of course, the Marui M14... I'll also be taking a look the most value for money red-dot you can get, the King Arms 1x30mm red-dot. Whilst we were there, we also had a sneak preview of this little gadget pictured below. Basically it's a replacement magazine housing for the G36 which enables the gun to accept M16 magazines. Lets face it, there are more M16 Hi-Caps out there than there are learner drivers on the roads.. (ok, maybe not quite that many) - we watched Frank fit it in under 2 minutes, it's that easy. On test, it secured the M16 magazines in place, but they did wobble a little from side to side, but there was no way they could fall out. An entire magazine emptied on full-auto without a single feed problem. Excellent! We'll update you with the price of these little beauties as soon as we have them. - Edit Price now in - £22. Update from Fire-Support: They now have in stock the latest offering from Marui, the Type 89 rifle. Retailing at £290 it's set to be a very impressive piece indeed. The construction utilises a lot of metal parts including the receiver, outer barrel, rear and fore-sights, trigger, selector switch etc.. and firing between 280-300fps out of the box with a 0.2g BB, the range should be pretty good too. It uses a 8.4v 'Stick Type' battery, but with these now being available in 1400mah, it shouldn't pose a problem. Another interesting feature is that the gun is compatible with M4/M16 magazines, if you've already got them. Check it out here.
They also have in stock some of the gas Tanaka M1897 trench shot-guns. Great for WW1 and WW2 re-enactors, and collectors alike. ABS Construction with some metal components and real-wood stock. Priced at £280, magazine capacity 5+1. Fire-Support have limited numbers of these... Check it out here.
26th October 15:50 Whilst browsing the Tokyo Marui website this afternoon (and believe me, my Japanese is very poor), we came across these two new releases. These are going to be very highly anticipated indeed. The M14 SOCOM, and the Glock 17 GBB. Drool over these pictures if you will, clicking on them will download you a PDF fact sheet. Rest assured, as soon as they are available, we will have them for review. Looking at the text on the website, we suspect they will be available before 2006 is out, so make sure these are on your Christmas list!
26th October 15:07 We've had an update in from G&P about their latest products... Those of you who are fans of the M14 are going to love these. Full CNC machined metal bodies with fibre collapsible stock, RAS rails... you name it, it has it. Here is a little picture of the sand coloured model for you to drool over. Price not known yet, but keep an eye out at your favourite Airsoft retailer.

new products!! 24th October 08:38 Well, they've been a long time coming, but Marui have finally completed another production run of the original P90, now with a new and improved red-dot. We reviewed one when they first came out, and thought it was a great little gun, read the review in full here. Frank from Fire-Support has been touch to let us know they've got the original P90 back in stock, along with some of the P90-TR's too. The main difference with the TR model is that the gun comes with a removable silencer and a rail system for adding your optics and accessories. See picture below:
23rd October 21:14 As promised, we've reviewed the Tanio Koba USP, which was kindly lent to us by Fire-Support... and we were quite impressed with it! You can read the review in full here. 23rd October 13:23 How do you take a good thing, and make it even better? Purchase yourself a metal body kit and pimp `yo pistol out, that's how! Intruder Shop are bringing out a number of metal slides and full metal body kits for the Marui 1911, Hi-Capa 4.3 and 5.1. These are Aluminium CNC machined with an anodised finish, and from the pictures, they're looking very good indeed. Available mid November at an Airsoft retailer near you!

- They also have some new Classic Army gear in stock, including the new SAR Taktik II, which is basically a full metal bodied G3/SG1. It looks good and at £255 (which includes 500rnd hi-cap), shooting around 320ish fps out of the box, it's set to be a popular gun indeed.

16th October 12:30 Well, what a tiring day we had yesterday. The dEFCON crew visited Urban Assault and played our first game together for about four months. It was a very enjoyable day, walking away with only minor wounds (well, a few of us got a little bit too close to the end of the enemies gun!). I had the opportunity to be part of Frank's 'Secret Police', the player marshal system which has had a BIG impact on cheating. I was basically instructed, that if I saw ANY player cheating, and could positively identify them, to report it to a marshal, and they would promptly be banned for 3 months. Since Frank has introduced this system, cheating is practically non-existent. I am pleased to report I saw no instances of cheating yesterday, and everyone played very well. I also ordered myself a Marui M14 today. That should be turning up in the next 2 weeks, so keep checking for a review on that, and the Tanio Koba USP GBB review also coming soon. Frank from fire-support.co.uk, who runs Urban Assault has been in touch to let us know they've increased the fps limit for AEGS. Whereas it was previously 300fps, it is now 328fps. The reason for this is they can no longer get hold of the velocity reducers made by Marui. We suspect Marui may have discontinued them. Obviously when playing in a CQB environment, at those velocities we recommend wearing full face protection. You can visit Urban Assault and learn more about this fantastic skirmish site here.
