Description
The LAYLAX Prometheus EG inner barrel is a 135mm upgrade part intended for compact AEGs such as the KRYTAC SDP series and short AR-15 pistol builds. Its 6.03mm tightbore diameter reduces the space around the BB as it travels, so less air escapes past the projectile and more of the available volume is used to push it along the bore.
The barrel is CNC-machined from stainless steel, giving it the rigidity to cope with high-cycle, high-vibration gearboxes without flexing. The internal bore is mirror-polished and the muzzle end is cut with a square crown, which supports even air release as the BB leaves the barrel.
Short outer barrels on micro-carbine and PDW layouts limit the distance over which the BB can accelerate. Fitting a tightbore of this length is one way of making the most of that short window.
