Description
Built on a shell-ejecting gas blowback action, the SOCOM M107 M82A1 carries full Barrett trademarks and markings across its body. Every shot cycles the rifle and throws a spent imitation cartridge, and the shells themselves are engraved.
The 20-inch barrel keeps overall length down, giving a shorter, more manoeuvrable rifle than a longer variant would be. Construction combines steel, metal and polymer, and a steel bipod, carry handle and adjustable tripod are part of the build.
Because the barrel is shorter than the full-length version, the rifle handles better in tighter spaces and when shifting firing positions. The steel build gives it a substantial feel in the hands.
Gas comes from an external supply, and the blowback cycle delivers recoil alongside the ejection. The 10-round magazine takes the shells, five of which are supplied, and the selector gives single shot and safety.
