Description
This LAYLAX Prometheus POM Piston Head is an internal upgrade for Tokyo Marui’s recoil-shock platform, specifically the New Ver.2 gearbox. It is machined in Japan from polyoxymethylene, a polymer picked for low friction and impact absorption — qualities that matter in a gearbox that cycles with a moving recoil weight behind it.
Ports in the front face push the sealing ring outwards on the forward travel to seal the cylinder, and the same layout limits drag as the piston returns. A ball-bearing thrust race inside the head lets the mainspring rotate as it compresses, which removes wind-up and reduces the strain carried by the spring and the motor.
It is aimed at technicians building or servicing high-specification NGRS builds, and at retailers keeping tuning parts on the shelf.
